Mississauga, ONT. – The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Women Entrepreneurs in Advanced Technology (WEATECH) Inc., operating as Eventtours, with 12 counts of operating as a travel agent without being registered.

Liezl Albino has also been charged with one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered and one count of being an Officer and Director of a corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the corporation from committing an offence.

It is alleged that Eventtours sold European spiritual pilgrimage packages to seniors. TICO has received complaints from consumers who paid Eventtours for travel that did not take place and refunds were not provided.   

Liezl Albino will appear in court on April 14, 2023, at 1:30 p.m. at 60 Queen Street West, Toronto, Ontario.

Individuals convicted in Court of offences relating to the Travel Industry Act, 2002 are subject to fines of up to $50,000 and/or prison terms of up to two years. Corporations are subject to fines of up to $250,000.
