Suspension List of Ontario-Registered Travel Retailers and Wholesalers

If TICO has grounds to believe that an Ontario-registered travel retailer or travel wholesaler (the "Registrant") contravenes the Travel Industry Act, 2002 (the"Act") or the terms of their registration, TICO may Temporarily Suspend their Registration.

The Suspension has the following consequences to the public and the Registrant:

• It is temporary in its nature as the Registrant has right of appeal to the Licence Appeal Tribunal. The Licence Appeal Tribunal will then determine whether the registration should be revoked, or the suspension lifted, or continued to a hearing date.
• It does not necessarily mean that the Registrant's registration with TICO will be revoked; it simply means that the Registrant has been ordered to stop its operations for a determined period of time.
• During the period of the Suspension, the Registrant will be allowed to finalize bookings paid in full prior to the Suspension, but is prohibited from accepting new bookings.

Consumers should not purchase travel services from any travel retailer or travel wholesaler while their registration with TICO is suspended. Travel Wholesalers and Retailers in Ontario are advised that if the suspended Registrant is soliciting their business after it has been Suspended, it will be acting in contravention of the Act and Regulation.

As soon as the status of the Suspension is determined (it is either lifted or the registration is revoked), the website will be updated accordingly. Please check this website periodically for an update on the status of the Registrant.  The Travel Industry Council of Ontario provides this information as a public service.
