What Is TICO?

The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) is an organization mandated by the Ontario government to administer the Ontario Travel Industry Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 26/05 which governs all of the approximately 2,100 travel retailers and travel wholesalers registered in Ontario. TICO does not sell any travel services.

Registered TICO agencies and websites provide additional consumer protection that may not be available when booking with agencies based in other countries or provinces. For All The Travel Information You Don’t Know

TICO-registered agents are required to advise their clients of the information on insurance, documents, immunizations and permissions including visas and passports that they will need to travel to their destination.

Because you don’t know what you don’t know, book with a TICO registered travel agent or website.

There are approximately 2,100 travel agencies, websites and travel wholesalers (tour operators) registered with the Travel Industry Council of Ontario.   Take advantage of the consumer protection available in Ontario and always book your travel services with a TICO registered travel agency or website.  Look for for the TICO Logo or search our database to determine if a travel agency, website or travel wholesaler is registered in good standing with TICO.  Remember, when you book your travel with a TICO registered Ontario travel agency or website, your travel services are protected.
