Mississauga, ONT. – After being charged by the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), 1856419 Ontario Inc., operating as Parvaz Travel, and Hamid Reza Siami pleaded guilty to one count each of operating as a travel agent without being registered.

Hamid Reza Siami also pleaded guilty to one count of being an Officer and Director of a corporation and failing to take reasonable care to prevent the corporation from committing an offence.

Parvaz Travel was previously a TICO-registered travel agency; however, their registration was revoked in October 2020. It was found they continued to advertise and sell travel services after their registration was revoked. This included the unauthorized use of a customer’s credit card for an unrelated transaction.

Hamid Reza Siami was fined $10,625, inclusive of a victim surcharge. Parvaz Travel received a suspended sentence. Both Hamid Reza Siami and Parvaz Travel were sentenced to a two-year probation.

TICO prosecutes unregistered companies and individuals to maintain the integrity of Ontario’s travel marketplace, giving consumers confidence when purchasing travel from registered professionals, while ensuring a level playing field for registered businesses.
