Mississauga, ONT. – The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Michael Shane Adams with one (1) count of operating as a travel agent without being registered.

The charge against Mr. Adams alleges:

  • Between March 1, 2018 and November 20, 2019, Mr. Adams arranged overnight accommodations for consumers in the Niagara Region.
  • Mr. Adams conducted business under names including: Niagara Smart Stays, Smart Stays and Executive Leasing.
  • The properties in question were short-term accommodation rentals and were not owned by Mr. Adams, Niagara Smart Stays, Smart Stays or Executive Leasing.

Charges were laid on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.

Mr. Adams will appear in court at 445 East Main Street in Welland, Ontario on Friday, January 10, 2020.
