With Bill 166, the Strengthening Protection for Ontario Consumers Act, 2017 passed in December of 2017 with amendments to the Travel Industry Act, 2002, the next phase of the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (“Ministry”) comprehensive review will focus on Ontario Regulation 26/05 (“Regulation”).

During the comprehensive review of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 (“Act”) held in 2017, TICO prepared two submissions containing recommended proposals for future amendments to both the Act and Regulation.

TICO wishes to share its submissions made to the Ministry during the 2017 comprehensive review with all stakeholders to ensure they are informed.
 

Following the Ministry’s initial consultations, TICO made its first submission in April of 2017:

In June of 2017, the Ministry released the Travel Industry Act, 2002 Review – Phase 2 Report requesting input on the proposals from all stakeholders.
