With the government of Ontario ordering the closure of all non-essential businesses, those businesses that are clearly on the exemption list may physically remain open (please view full list of exemptions here).

The government has indicated that teleworking and online commerce are permitted at all times for all businesses. Any TICO registrant that wishes to continue their operations remotely may do so.

To have up-to-date information and contact details:

  • All registrants must advise TICO whether you are closed temporarily or still operating remotely by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If your status changes, please send a follow-up email.
  • If you are operating remotely, please provide the address and contact information of where your supervisor or manager is located.
  • Travel counsellors may work from their own home offices or separate locations. When a travel counsellor works outside of the registered place of business, they are considered an outside sales representative (OSR). Registrants and travel counsellors working under this arrangement for the first time should review the guidelines available at this link.

Registrants who have questions about closures of at-risk workplaces or how emergency measures impact their business or employment can call the government of Ontario’s Stop the Spread Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659. If registrants choose to contact the hotline, we would appreciate you advising TICO of the guidance you have been provided.
