January 8, 2026 - Charged: Tarjinder Singh operating as Believe Travels
Mississauga, ONT. – The Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has charged Tarjinder Singh, operating as Believe Travels, with one count of operating as a travel agent without being registered.
It is alleged Tarjinder Singh sold travel services without TICO registration, after communicating with consumers on Facebook Marketplace.
TICO received a consumer complaint alleging that after purchasing travel services for 10 people from Tarjinder Singh, the group arrived at the airport and discovered that bookings had only been made for half of the group, forcing the remaining five consumers to purchase last-minute tickets.
Tarjinder Singh will appear in court on February 6, 2026 at 9 a.m. in Toronto, Ontario.
Individuals convicted in Court of offences relating to the Travel Industry Act, 2002 are subject to fines of up to $50,000 and/or prison terms of up to two years. Corporations are subject to fines of up to $250,000.
TICO prosecutes unregistered companies and individuals to maintain the integrity of Ontario’s travel marketplace, giving consumers confidence when purchasing travel from registered professionals, while ensuring a level playing field for registered businesses.
