Sep 30`11 - TICO Board Elects Vice Chair and Welcomes New Board Member
(Toronto) - At its meeting following TICO’s Annual General Meeting held at the Toronto Congress Centre on September 27, 2011, TICO’s new Board of Directors named Scott Stewart as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. Scott Stewart is President of G. Stewart Travel Services in Peterborough. The Vice Chair appointment is for one year until TICO’s next Annual General Meeting to be held in 2012. The Chair of the Board of Directors is for a three year term and is currently held by Michael Janigan, Executive Director and General Counsel for the Public Interest Advocacy Centre. Michael Janigan is one of five ministerial appointees on the Board.
TICO’s Board of Directors also welcomes Paul Samuel, President of Overseas Travel Limited to the Board of Directors. Paul Samuel of Toronto was the successful candidate elected to the TICO Board of Directors by the industry at large, for a 2-year position that was open to a retail registrant.
“TICO’s Board of Directors extends its sincere appreciation to retiring board member David Shaw of Evans Intravel in Orillia for his contributions to TICO,” said Michael Pepper, TICO President and CEO.
