At a press conference held at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport today, the Ontario Government announced new rules effective January 1, 2017 which will require all-in pricing when advertising the price of travel services.  The goal of the new all-in pricing requirement is to ensure that consumers know exactly what they will be required to pay for travel services and to make it easier for consumers to compare prices.

It was also announced that the Ontario Government is also conducting a comprehensive review of the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and Ontario Regulation 26/05 which regulates approximately 2,400 Ontario retail travel agencies and travel wholesalers (tour operators).   The Government will be holding public consultation sessions commencing in February of 2017.
