The Ontario Superior Court of Justice approved the discharge of PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. (“PWC”) as the Judicial Trustee of C3 Leisure Limited o/a Canada 3000 Holidays on December 24, 2009. The Court appointed the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) to administer the funds remaining in the trust account.  PWC has transferred the funds to TICO pursuant to the Court’s Order and TICO will be administering the remaining trust funds on behalf of PWC.

 

Prior to its discharge, PWC held funds in trust for distribution to legitimate claim holders of Canada 3000 Holidays. Over the years, PWC lost contact with many claimants, where refund cheques were returned and all efforts to locate claimants proved unsuccessful. Currently $282,062.37 related to 1035 claims remains unclaimed in Ontario.

 

TICO has set up a process by which consumers can submit a Refund Application against C3 Leisure Limited trust funds to TICO.  In order to claim, consumers must have purchased their Canada 3000 Holidays travel services from Ontario travel agencies and have previously filed a claim with the Trustee, which was approved but not paid in full.   PWC has provided TICO with a list of the individuals who have an outstanding refund due to them.  The list of claimant names may be found on TICO’s website at www.tico.ca    Please note that only individuals whose names appear on the list provided by PWC and who have an outstanding claim against the C3 Leisure Limited trust funds may file a Refund Application.  To obtain a Refund Application, please contact TICO at 905-624-6241 or toll free at 1-888-451-TICO (8426) or download an Application at www.tico.ca.

 

Pursuant to the Court Order dated December 24, 2009, the filing deadline to submit a Refund Application to TICO is November 18, 2012.   Applications received after November 18, 2012 will not be processed.
